Surely the dream is over now. So what next? Signing Jonas again? Something has to be done about this. Where has the offence gone? It's an odd curse you boys have going for yourselves. You have no number 1 centres coming up. Colborne is good yes, but hes not going to magically become a #1 centre. Hes a 2/3 guy. Not knocking him either, hes a good prospect. But you guys need a real legit #1. Will you shop your 1st round pick this year? Surely you can make a package to deal for one. But then, who do you go after in the offseason for a netminder? Decisions decisions.... |

im just happy they can somewhat play defense now. this season is a write off, but perhaps the roster can be changed a bit in the summer and the team can be more suited to this defensive style of play in future seasons, while also benefitting from higher draft picks. |

I think best case scenario at this point is Randy teaches his defensive system, we learn to perfect it over the next 14 games, losing each game 1-0 or 2-1, fall to the lottery, and grab one of the two 1C prospects. bury connolly and lombardi in the minors, komi for a 7th if possible, and back up the truck to parise's house. 7 years 52.5 mil.
...and then i wake from this dream and settle for a gus/reimer combo leading us to a 9th place finish next year |

OK so instead of instigating conversation thats good natured, let me instigate a real debate. Maybe you can earn a lottery pick, so that you can trade it plus the future for the bloated contract of Rick Nash. That will guarantee that you can be a playoff team for the first time in your pubescent life! |

I know this is easy to say now, but when everyone was saying we just need to have a good start because we always do well at the end, i knew we would do poopty near the end. Our team just needs to develop, but the problem is we dont really have any top line players developing, go out and get Brayden Schenn... That adds a future top 6 center to our core and gives us more grit and heart that we so clearly miss. Then just let our team develop, we could probably scoop him for Franson Kulimen or Franson Mac 2nd or Franson and a 1st i dont know some package with Franson who does seem to have value, i think Komisarek and Schenn will have bounce back years under Carlyle, Gardiner could have a sophmore slump... you never know, so we cant count on him. I notice he hasnt been skating lately. When he skates well hes a huge force and can log huge minutes... But lately that hasnt been the case, anyways i think getting Brayden Schenn will complete our core group moving forward. |

Really though the proper development of Kadri Biggs Colborne Gardiner Frattin Ashton Mckegg will make us a playoff team. But still a 7th 8th team, now if Schenn starts to play to his potential under Carlyles system and Reimer picks it up again next year and moving forward, then we can be a team. But still getting Brayden Schenn would give us the core centermen infront of Grabo and Colborne Bozak will be 3a guys. We will have tons of depth up front too if we make a Franson and a 1st deal. And lets get serious as much as i want a guy like Galenychuck Dumba or Grigs. Brayden Schenn is a 5th overall draft pick too and the guy is more developed and could really get Luke going to. I think its a move we need to make. Even though losing our first and Franson will hurt a lot. Now if we can get Grigs we may need to keep it cause he looks like he could be the next Malkin forsure. As much as i dislike those types of Russians he is a beast. |

Saying that we should deal Franson and a 1st for B.Shcenn makes sense to me but in my mind no freakin way Burke trades our 3rd straight 1st rounder in the top 10. |

Especially since it's looking like our first is going to be a better player than B.Schenn
